Attorney Ellyn I. Fishkin believes that the role of a family law attorney is vital. This is because family attorneys help clients with all aspects of their lives: personal, relational, and financial. Ellyn views herself as a guide through this process. When they approach her, Ellyn’s clients are looking for her advice, and she offers it by sharing a compassionate yet honest reality of their situation.
As Ellyn says, “I know that it is important to practice this area of law with both honey and vinegar.”
Most of her clients benefit from a collaborative approach that allows a fair settlement to be reached. (This is the honey.) However, when it is appropriate and required, there is nothing wrong with also being aggressive and skilled in the courtroom or during negotiations. (This is the vinegar.) Family law requires an attorney to understand the nuance of how legal proceedings affect a client’s children, emotional, finances, and overall wellbeing, and Ellyn uses her honey-and-vinegar approach to search for the best results for her clients.
Attorney Ellyn has had experience with a variety of legal matters during her 13 years of practice. She has helped clients through civil litigation, domestic relations, bankruptcy, and landlord/tenant issues. She’s worked with small firms throughout Metrowest and the Merrimack Valley and has also worked in a solo practice. She went to Ithaca College for her undergraduate degree and obtained her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School.
